Permanent Galleries - Imperial War Museum North, Manchester
DHA Designs was responsible for the exhibition and show lighting for this landmark building, designed by architect Daniel Libeskind. They worked closely with exhibition designers Real Studios and show designers Event Communications to create a dramatic but sympathetic lighting scheme to this striking building and its superb collection.
The lighting encompasses a variety of disciplines ranging from the architecture enhancing slashes across to the ceiling to state of the art fibre optic displays within the conserved collections. Hourly, the space dissolves into an AV show, with complimentary lighting and sound to stunning effect.
This lighting design won a National Lighting Design Award in 2003.
