DHA is thrilled to announce that The Jackson Library has won the Public Sector Category at the FX Awards due to the exceptional design of the college’s library.
DHA is proud to have collaborated on this stunning project, delivering innovative lighting design that complements the architectural vision and enhances the space’s functionality and atmosphere.
Renewing one of George Gilbert Scott’s most accomplished works at the University of Oxford, the comprehensive refurbishment of The Jackson Library combined a sensitive restoration programme with thoughtful contemporary interventions and delivered transformative improvements to the library’s study spaces and accessibility. Dated lighting and infrastructure were stripped out and replaced with state-of-the-art lights positioned sensitively and effectively, and the lighting design was integrated with decorative fixtures to create a classic look.
The FX Awards judges called the design “A beautifully released and detailed reinvention that unlocks the building for contemporary use”.
DHA is also delighted to share that theThe Jackson Library has won this year’s Oxford Preservation Trust Building Conservation Award, recognising the contribution that outstanding conservation and design makes to Oxford’s character and communities.
The Jackson Library at Exeter College has also been named a Regional Finalist in the 2025 Civic Trust awards, featuring high scores from the judges in the rigorous first stage assessment process.
DHA offers a huge congratulations to NEX for their incredible achievement and to everyone involved in creating this award-winning project which is being celebrated widely through the lighting and design sector.
