DHA’s lighting of NHM’s first new gallery in ten years that tells the story of how science and the natural world can help save the planet.

DHA’s challenge working alongside the whole NHM team was to balance the daylighting of this beautiful gallery with the conservation requirements of the objects. They introduced internal hoods within cases and frosted films to the top of larger cases so artificial highlighting could enhance the displays. Along with Record Lighting, they designed bespoke lighting details for all the graphic panels and lightbox labels for an elegant, moving gallery.
