Medieval and Renaissance Galleries – V&A South Kensington, London
Displaying some of the highlights of the V&A collection from 300AD to the early 1600s.
DHA Design worked for over 5 years to create this beautiful, sympathetic lighting scheme, working closely with the V&A Art and Decorative Sculpture dept. The challenge was making the galleries feel light and airy and re-introducing daylight without impacting on these historic artefacts. Highlights include the stained glass displays, and 16m high Gallery 50 of breath-taking objects which DHA commissioned from the top of a terrifying boom lift. A multi-award winning project, DHA returned from 2023-2025 to upgrade these galleries to LED without losing their magic.
