Jewellery Gallery – V&A South Kensington, London
The William and Judith Bollinger Jewellery Gallery displays over 3,500 jewels from the V&A’s unique collection.
Working alongside Eva Jiricna Architects, DHA lit what is considered one of the most comprehensive histories of jewellery in the world, making a dark corridor gallery come alive by adding a mezzanine and blue-lit glass staircase. Utilising fibre optic technology, they focused over 1,600 endpoints to light this extraordinary collection, with discreet backlit graphics to mitigate shadowing and were highly commended at the Lighting Design Awards. In 2019 they were asked to return to create a bespoke case for the acquisition of Queen Victoria’s coronet, designed by Prince Albert, acquired to mark the bicentenary of their births.
