The Tudor World in the Wolsey Rooms – Hampton Court Palace
Re-lighting historic rooms to tell the story of a royal dynasty through paintings and interpretation.
DHA felt privileged to work again with the independent charity Historic Royal Palaces, following their successful collaborations at Kensington Palace and Hampton Court Palace. These rooms, built for Cardinal Wolsey in the 1520s had beautiful decorative ceilings, and DHA worked closely with Easy Tiger Creative to design structures to hide all light sources so both the paintings and the rooms could be enjoyed without modern distractions. The discreet warm ceiling uplighting was redolent of candlelight, and DHA introduced Casambi to the project to minimise the need for data cabling.
