Exhibitions - Magna Science Adventure Centre, Rotherham
DHA Designs were appointed to design the lighting for the three main show areas of the Magna Science Adventure Centre. Situated in the old Templeborough steel works in Rotherham, the centre opened to the public in April 2000.
They worked closely with Event Communications to tell the story of the making of steel.
DHA Designs designed the lighting in the Great Hall and the Secondary Steelmaker as well as conceiving, storyboarding and executing the spectacular recreation of the Electric Arc Furnace. Pyortechnics, projection, colour and movement were all used to create an unforgettable visitor experience.
This project has won both National and International lighting design awards, including the prestigious IALD (International Association of Lighting Design) Award in the USA.
