Rodin and Antiquity – British Museum, London

This unique exhibition told the story of Rodin’s inspirational visits to the British Museum to draw the Parthenon Sculptures.

With extensive loans from Musee Rodin, Paris, Rodin’s work was placed alongside that of Phaedias in a breathtaking display.

DHA’s big move was to open up the end walls of the gallery to daylight for the first time, doing precise calculations to position all 50 lux objects safely within the exhibition.
Mixing daylight and artificial light to reveal the brilliance of these two artists led Jonathan Jones in his five-star Guardian review to describe it as ‘perfect lighting’.
