The Jackson Library – Exeter College, Oxford

Renewing one of George Gilbert Scott’s most accomplished works at the University of Oxford, a comprehensive refurbishment of The Jackson Library has combined a sensitive restoration programme with thoughtful contemporary interventions and delivered transformative improvements to the library’s study spaces and accessibility.

The library scheme was designed to create a relaxing environment for students to study in. The lighting design was integrated into the fabric with decorative fixtures used to create a classic look. Dated lighting and infrastructure were stripped out and replaced with state-of-the-art lights positioned sensitively and effectively
